Story

August, a young man is navigating the complexities of relationships and queerness. He develops a queer friendship with an older man, George who he finds solace and comfort in. Struggling to find his place in both his personal and professional life, August is left with feelings of isolation and alienation at work. As their unlikely friendship grows, August confronts his own insecurities and uncertainties with his crush on his co-worker. Through heartfelt conversations with George and their interest in drawings, he learns the true essence of human connection. Acceptance and understanding can be found in unexpected friendships that defy conventional norms.

Director's                    Statement

Between Hands is a film celebrating queer friendships. Through these special, non-romantic bonds, we as queer people are validated by shared pains and experiences. But ultimately queer stories are human stories, and August and George are simply two humans that meet when they most need each other. George finds in August companionship in his final day and August a genuine connection in its fullest context. August, in the appreciation of this “finding” must also learn the inevitability of “losing.” But perhaps it is only when we “lose” that we truly understand what it means to “have.” We all remember the ones that changed us, as they flow through us even in their passing.
